ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Mental Health and Sexuality in Adolescents and Young Adults," is focused on understanding how psychiatric disorders and medications can affect the sexual health of young people. The goal is to improve conversations about sexual health between care teams and young patients in psychiatric settings. By providing special training to psychiatric care teams, the researchers hope to encourage more discussions about sexual health, which is important for the overall well-being of young people receiving treatment.
To participate in this study, young people aged 15 and older who are hospitalized for psychiatric care can join if they agree to take part. They can be receiving treatment with medications or not. However, those under 15, those who refuse to participate, or those who need emergency medical care are not eligible. Participants can expect to be part of an environment where their sexual health questions and concerns are openly discussed, which can contribute to their overall mental health and recovery. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to create a more supportive and understanding atmosphere for young individuals facing mental health challenges.
