ClinConnect Summary
The Safe & Healthy Parasport Project is a clinical trial designed to help elite para athletes prevent sports injuries and improve their overall health. The goal of the study is to see if an online health promotion platform can make a difference over time, specifically over 6 months, 12 months, and 5 years. This platform aims to not only reduce injuries and illnesses but also enhance aspects like sleep, nutrition, and mental health, which can ultimately lead to better training and performance for the athletes involved.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be registered para athletes in Sweden or South Africa and have a classification from the International Paralympic Committee. Unfortunately, athletes who are younger than 18 or older than 66, as well as those who are not classified, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage with the eHealth platform and provide feedback on their health and training experiences. This trial is an important step toward creating safer and more effective training programs tailored specifically for para athletes.
