ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Menier's Disease - Bone Density Study, is looking into how Meniere's disease, a condition that affects the inner ear and causes symptoms like dizziness and hearing loss, relates to bone health and vitamin D levels. Researchers want to understand if people with Meniere's disease have lower bone density, which could lead to conditions like osteoporosis (weak bones). Over two years, participants with confirmed Meniere's disease will have their bone density, vitamin D levels, blood pressure, and hearing tested regularly. The results will be compared to those from healthy individuals to see if there are significant differences.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be diagnosed with definite Meniere's disease. However, individuals with certain medical conditions, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or those taking specific long-term medications, will not be able to participate. For those who join the study, they can expect to have several health tests done over the two years, including measurements of their bone density and vitamin D levels. This research aims to better understand the connection between Meniere's disease and bone health, which could help improve care for patients in the future.
