ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at patients who have narrowing of the arteries in the brain or neck, known as intracranial or carotid stenosis. The goal is to understand how this condition affects thinking and memory by collecting information on the patients' health, performing brain scans, and using specific tests to measure cognitive function. By doing this, researchers hope to find ways to identify early signs of cognitive problems in these patients.

To join the study, participants need to be at least 40 years old and have a significant narrowing (50% or more) in one of their arteries. They should also be able to give written consent to participate. Patients with a history of major head injuries, certain brain conditions, or severe communication difficulties are not eligible. If someone joins the study, they can expect regular check-ups and tests to monitor their condition throughout the trial. This research is important as it aims to improve the understanding of how artery narrowing can impact brain health, which may lead to better treatments in the future.
