ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how a medication called tranexamic acid might help reduce inflammation in people who have suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Inflammation is the body's natural response to injury, but too much inflammation can make recovery harder. The researchers want to see if tranexamic acid can help manage this response and improve outcomes for patients with mild to moderate TBIs.

To participate in the study, you must be at least 18 years old and have experienced a specific type of brain injury within the last eight hours. Your injury should not be life-threatening, and you should have a score above 8 on a scale used to assess brain function. Unfortunately, some people may not be eligible, including those who are pregnant, in cardiac arrest, or have certain medical conditions like kidney failure. If you join the trial, you will receive more information about what to expect during the study, including any tests or treatments involved. Your participation could help researchers learn more about how to treat brain injuries and improve care for future patients.
