ClinConnect Summary

The MINUS-trial is a study that aims to understand how often urinary tract infections (UTIs) occur after the removal of ureteral stents, which are small tubes placed in the urinary system during certain medical procedures. The trial will include adults aged 18 and older who have had a stent placed and are planning to have it removed either at a doctor's office or by themselves at home. Before the stent is removed, participants will provide a urine sample to ensure they do not have an infection, and they will answer questions about any UTI symptoms they might experience afterward.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old, have had a stent placed during a procedure, and should not have any signs of infection before the stent is removed. Those with certain conditions, like a permanent catheter or recent UTIs, will not be included. Throughout the study, participants can expect to share their experiences and symptoms after stent removal, helping researchers gather valuable information on the risks of developing a UTI in different settings. This trial is important because it could help improve care for patients undergoing stent removal.
