ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to close the gaps in the upper jaw (alveolar clefts) in children who have a condition known as unilateral cleft lip and palate. The researchers want to compare two methods: one uses bone taken from the patient’s own body, while the other uses a special type of ceramic putty that helps the bone grow. This trial is currently looking for participants, specifically children aged between 2 and 4 years old who have a unilateral alveolar cleft and are ready for surgery to close it.
Eligible participants will take part in a study to see which method works better for repairing the cleft. Those who join the trial can expect to receive care from dental and medical teams throughout the process. It's important to note that children with cleft lip and palate caused by certain syndromes won’t be included in this study. This trial aims to find the best way to help these children and improve their dental health and quality of life.
