ClinConnect Summary
The Pain CHAMP trial is studying two different approaches to help people who are dealing with chronic pain and issues related to opioid use, such as misuse or dependence. The researchers want to find out if using telemedicine and teamwork with healthcare providers (called telemedicine and collaborative management, or TCM) is effective on its own, or if it works better when combined with an additional program that teaches patients about pain management and self-care (called COPES). The main goal is to see how these approaches affect pain levels and symptoms related to opioid use.
To participate in this trial, you need to be aged 65 or older and currently receiving the TCM intervention, either with or without COPES. The study is looking for both patients and healthcare providers who are engaged with specific study sites. If you join, you can expect support from your healthcare team and may learn new strategies to manage your pain. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome, regardless of gender. Your involvement could help improve pain management for others in the future!
