ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well a specific surgical procedure called 8 plate hemi epiphysiodesis works to correct a condition known as genu varum, commonly referred to as "bow legs," in children. The goal is to see if there is any remaining twisting of the legs after the surgery. The trial is currently looking for participants, specifically children between the ages of 2.5 and 12 years who have not yet reached skeletal maturity (meaning their bones are still growing). Unfortunately, children with certain conditions, like previous bone injuries or specific metabolic and neurological disorders, cannot participate.
If your child is eligible and chooses to take part in this trial, they will undergo the surgical procedure and be monitored afterward to assess any remaining leg deformities. This study aims to improve the understanding of how effective this surgery is and help doctors provide better treatment options for children with bow legs in the future.
