ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called Youth Empowerment Solutions: Engaging Youth for Anti Racism and Cultural Equity (YES-ERACE), is studying a special program designed to help middle school students become more empowered and active in fighting against racism and reducing violent behaviors. The trial compares this program, YES-ERACE, to regular after-school activities to see how effective it is in promoting positive changes in attitudes about race and decreasing violence among youth. The program is specifically aimed at students in 6th to 8th grades at six middle schools in Genesee County, Michigan.
To participate in this study, students must be enrolled in an after-school program at one of the participating schools and must agree to take part in the program. Those who are not students or do not agree to participate will not be included. If selected, participants can expect to engage in hands-on projects that help improve their communities and learn valuable skills to address racism. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and the results will help understand how effective this program can be in empowering youth and creating a more inclusive environment.
