ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help doctors better understand how the liver handles blood flow during surgery. The goal is to create a mathematical model that can predict changes in a specific pressure difference (called the portocaval gradient) that can affect recovery after liver surgery. By improving the selection of patients for liver surgeries—like liver transplants or removing parts of the liver—the researchers hope to reduce the risks of serious complications, such as liver failure or death.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a liver condition that requires surgery, such as a liver transplant or a procedure to remove part of your liver. You'll need to be enrolled in a social security plan and provide written consent to take part in the study. Participants can expect to undergo specific tests during their surgery to measure the pressure differences in the liver, which will help improve future surgeries for others. It's important to note that this study is not open to pregnant or breastfeeding women, or those who cannot undergo MRI scans.
