ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two non-invasive methods for measuring intracranial pressure (ICP) in children who have a condition called intracranial hypertension, which means there’s too much pressure inside the skull that can harm the brain. The researchers want to see how well these non-invasive techniques, called Transcranial Doppler (TCD) and optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) measurements, compare to the standard method of directly measuring ICP using a device placed inside the skull.
To participate in this study, children who already have a device in place to measure ICP are eligible. However, children with certain conditions, like a fracture at the base of the skull or those whose parents or guardians do not provide informed consent, cannot take part. If involved in the trial, participants will undergo non-invasive tests that are generally safe and painless, providing valuable information to help improve care for children with elevated ICP.
