ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the experiences of young patients who have had their first episode of psychosis and are considered "at risk" for developing serious mental health issues like schizophrenia. The goal is to create a patient library, which is a collection of resources and information to help these patients understand their condition better and support their treatment. The study will involve about 250 participants aged between 15 and 30 years, who will be monitored for a period of 10 years, with check-ins at two years and if any major health changes occur.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be diagnosed with a first psychotic episode and assessed to be at risk for further psychotic disorders. They will be recruited through healthcare professionals such as doctors and psychiatrists. Participants will need to give their consent, or have a legal guardian consent for them if they are minors. It’s important to note that those with a history of psychosis lasting more than one year or certain other health issues may not be included in the study. By joining, participants can expect to receive support and information that could help them manage their mental health better.
