ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the effects of an herbal mouthwash on patients with head and neck cancer who are undergoing chemoradiotherapy, a treatment that combines chemotherapy and radiation. One of the side effects of this treatment is a painful condition called oral mucositis, which causes sore and inflamed areas in the mouth. The goal of the study is to see if using the herbal gargle can help reduce these symptoms and improve the quality of life for patients during their treatment.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be over 20 years old, have a confirmed diagnosis of head and neck cancer, and be undergoing treatment with radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy. They should expect to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study, and they need to be able to understand and communicate clearly. However, people with certain health issues, like serious infections or allergies to herbal medicines, will not be eligible to join. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into managing treatment-related mouth issues for those battling head and neck cancer.
