ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how different ways of focusing during rehabilitation exercises can affect muscle activation in the thigh after surgery to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). After ACL surgery, many patients experience weakness in their thigh muscles, and the researchers want to see if guiding patients to focus externally (on the movement or outcome) versus internally (on their body movements) during exercises can improve their recovery.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between 65 and 74 years old and have had their ACL reconstructed using a specific type of graft for the first time. They should not have any other major injuries or conditions affecting their knees, ankles, or hips, and they must agree to participate in the study. Those who join can expect to engage in rehabilitation exercises while receiving different types of focus instructions to see which method helps them recover better. This trial is currently looking for volunteers, and it's a chance to contribute to understanding the best ways to support recovery after ACL surgery.
