ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Life After Sport," is studying how past injuries from competitive sports and a lack of physical activity can affect the long-term health of former athletes. Researchers want to understand how these factors might lead to issues like chronic pain, poor health, and disabilities as people age. The trial will compare the strength, physical activity levels, dietary habits, and overall health of current and former athletes to those of people who do not participate in sports. The goal is to see how knee injuries and being inactive might contribute to health problems later in life.
To participate in this study, individuals should be between 18-25 years old or 40-64 years old and must either be a current or former collegiate athlete or a non-athlete. However, those with certain health conditions, such as severe neurological issues or joint replacements, cannot take part. Participants can expect to undergo assessments related to their strength and health while contributing to important research that may lead to better health strategies for athletes and active individuals in the future.
