ClinConnect Summary
The Project e-PBI+ trial is looking into ways that parents can help reduce risky drinking and cannabis use among college students. These behaviors can lead to serious problems, such as accidents, injuries, and poor academic performance. The study aims to improve an existing online program that encourages communication between parents and their college-age children, now including updated information about cannabis use. By testing this enhanced program, the researchers hope to provide parents with effective tools to support their teens in making safer choices.
To participate in this trial, both a parent and their college-aged teen (aged 18-24) need to agree to take part and complete a few initial questions together. If both the parent and the teen are willing to participate, they will be involved in the study, which will include activities and resources focused on understanding and discussing these important topics. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it’s a great opportunity for families to engage in open conversations about drinking and cannabis use while contributing to important research.
