ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different treatments for rhinitis—like allergies or non-allergic rhinitis—can help reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes, commonly known as “shiners.” Shiners can occur when fluid builds up around the eyes, often due to nasal congestion caused by rhinitis. The researchers will involve children, teenagers, and adults who have been diagnosed with moderate to severe rhinitis. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of several treatment options, including oral antihistamines, nasal corticosteroids, or a combination of treatments. The main goal is to see if these therapies can help lighten the shiners while also improving rhinitis symptoms.
To participate, individuals must have a clinical diagnosis of moderate to severe rhinitis but should not have certain other conditions, such as chronic sinus issues, recent facial injuries, or respiratory infections. Throughout the trial, participants will have their shiners photographed and their quality of life evaluated using specific questionnaires. This research could help determine the most effective treatments for not only rhinitis symptoms but also for reducing those pesky shiners. If you're interested in joining, you'll receive more information about what to expect during the study.
