ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a medication called Propofol affects brain activity and connectivity in patients with a type of brain tumor known as supratentorial glioma. Gliomas can interfere with important brain functions, which makes it challenging to monitor how deep a patient is under anesthesia during surgery. The researchers want to learn more about how different levels of sedation with Propofol impact brain function, using specialized tests called Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Auditory Event-related Potential (AERP). This information could help doctors better manage anesthesia for patients with gliomas in the future.
To participate in this trial, candidates should be between 18 and 60 years old, have a specific type of glioma, and be in good overall health. They should also be able to speak Chinese and provide consent to participate. Those with certain health issues, like significant airway problems, obesity, hearing loss, or other neurological disorders, may not be eligible. If enrolled, participants can expect to undergo tests that will help researchers gather important data on how their brains respond to anesthesia during the procedure. This study aims to improve the care and safety of patients undergoing surgery for gliomas.
