ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a personalized, high-intensity training program over two weeks can improve fitness before major abdominal surgery. The goal is to see if this type of training can help reduce the chances of serious heart problems after surgery, especially for patients who are at moderate to high risk. Researchers are particularly interested in patients who may not be as fit before surgery, as improving their fitness could lead to better outcomes.
To participate in this study, patients should be between the ages of 65 and 74, have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 35, and be scheduled for elective abdominal surgery that has a moderate to high risk of complications. Those who are pregnant, have had major trauma recently, or have other specific medical issues may not be eligible. Participants will undergo a customized training program designed to enhance their physical condition before their surgery, and they will be closely monitored throughout the process. This study is currently recruiting participants who meet these criteria.
