ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of a special imaging test called Computed Tomography Coronary Angiography (CTCA) before a procedure to open blocked coronary arteries known as Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO PCI). The goal is to see if using CTCA helps doctors successfully open these blocked arteries more often compared to going straight to the PCI procedure without this imaging test. The trial will involve 20 patients who meet certain criteria and will be randomly assigned to either have the CTCA or go directly to the PCI. Researchers will evaluate how well the procedures work, the cost-effectiveness, and any complications that may arise.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and have a specific type of blocked artery that meets certain scoring criteria. They should also be suitable candidates for the PCI procedure and have clear images from the CTCA for analysis. Participants will be followed up by phone six months after their procedure to check on their chest pain levels. This study is currently recruiting and aims to improve outcomes for patients with blocked coronary arteries.
