ClinConnect Summary
The PREV_FUNC Study is a clinical trial designed to see how different types of exercise programs can help older adults who are hospitalized. Specifically, the study will compare a comprehensive exercise program that includes various mobility and strength-building exercises to a simpler program focused only on walking and getting up from a chair. The main goal is to determine which type of exercise is better at improving physical function in older patients.
To participate in this study, individuals must be able to stand up on their own or with minimal help and be able to communicate with the research team. However, those who have serious health issues that prevent them from exercising, cannot follow instructions, live in nursing homes, or have participated in the study before will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in tailored exercise routines and contribute to valuable research aimed at enhancing the recovery and quality of life for older adults after hospitalization.
