ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to help people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) improve their physical activity levels using a mobile app. Physical inactivity can increase the risk of developing dementia, so this study aims to find out if a 12-week program can encourage participants to be more active. The focus is on individuals with a specific type of MCI that can lead to Alzheimer’s disease, which is a significant health concern. Participants will be paired with a primary caregiver, and together they will either join the activity program or receive regular care without the new intervention.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between 50 and 85 years old, have a diagnosis of amnestic MCI, and score between 18 and 24 on a cognitive assessment test. They also should not currently be classified as "active" in their physical activity levels and need a caregiver willing to help them with the program. Throughout the study, researchers will look at how many people complete the program, how much physical activity participants do, and whether the program is safe and acceptable. This pilot study will help gather information that could lead to larger studies in the future, potentially benefiting many more individuals, especially in rural areas.
