ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a program called "prehabilitation" on recovery after surgery for a condition known as an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Prehabilitation involves preparing patients physically and mentally before their surgery, which may help them recover faster and better afterwards. The trial will compare two groups of patients: those who participate in the prehabilitation program and those who do not, to see how their recovery differs three months after their surgery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be adults aged 65 to 74 years who have a specific type of abdominal aortic aneurysm and are scheduled for surgery due to the size of their aneurysm, which should be between 50-55 mm. However, patients who need urgent surgery that doesn't allow for at least six weeks of preparation will not be included. If you join this study, you can expect to either take part in the prehabilitation program or receive standard care before your surgery, and you'll be followed up with to assess your recovery progress. This research could help improve recovery strategies for future patients undergoing similar surgeries.
