ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how brain and blood vessel checks, along with brain scans (called MRIs), can help doctors understand and treat patients with infectious endocarditis, a serious heart infection. The study aims to find out how these tests might influence treatment decisions, especially for patients who have also suffered a stroke, since brain problems are common in endocarditis. Researchers want to gather more information about the neurological aspects of this condition and see how input from brain specialists could improve patient care.
To participate in the trial, you need to be an adult with a confirmed case of infectious endocarditis, and you must be able to provide consent to join the study. However, if you've been admitted to the hospital for a brain emergency, have certain health issues that prevent you from getting an MRI, or are pregnant or not using contraception, you won't be eligible. Participants can expect to undergo a thorough evaluation, including brain scans, and will be closely monitored throughout the study. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it’s an important step toward better understanding and managing infectious endocarditis in patients.
