ClinConnect Summary
The Akershus Study of Ischemic Stroke and Thrombolysis -1 is a research project taking place at Akershus University Hospital in Norway. This study is focused on understanding how different types of strokes—such as acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and transient ischemic attacks—are managed and what outcomes patients experience. Researchers will collect and analyze information from patients who have been admitted to the hospital for these conditions, using both past data and ongoing follow-up to learn more about stroke care and recovery.
If you or someone you know is between the ages of 65 and 74 and has had a stroke or a stroke-like event, you may be eligible to participate in this study. There are no specific exclusion criteria, which means that most patients with cerebrovascular diseases can take part. Participants can expect to share their medical information, and they will be followed over time to see how they recover and what treatments work best. This study aims to improve how strokes are treated and to better understand the recovery process for patients.
