ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Survival Model for Preterm Infants," aims to develop a mathematical model that can help predict the chances of survival and significant health issues for preterm babies—those born at or before 34 weeks of pregnancy. By analyzing data from preterm infants born in Wales, the study hopes to provide valuable insights into how to improve care for these vulnerable newborns both before and right after birth.
To be eligible for this study, infants must be born alive in Welsh maternity hospitals and need to be preterm. The mothers must also live in Wales. Unfortunately, infants with certain birth defects or those whose mothers are from England cannot participate, as their cases may complicate the results. The study is currently not recruiting participants but will analyze existing data over six months. If you have a preterm infant, this research could contribute to better understanding and outcomes for babies like yours in the future.
