ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying pelvic girdle pain (PGP) during pregnancy, which is discomfort in the pelvic area that some women experience. The researchers want to learn more about how this pain develops by testing pregnant women who are not currently experiencing any pelvic joint pain early in their pregnancy. They will follow these women until they give birth to see who develops PGP and who does not.
To participate in this study, women need to be pregnant and under 20 weeks along, and they should not have any existing pain in their pelvic joints. Women with certain conditions, like fibromyalgia or those who are on sick leave, cannot join the study. If you decide to participate, you can expect to undergo some manual tests to assess your pelvic joints, and then you will be monitored throughout your pregnancy. This research is important because it could help improve understanding and treatment of pelvic girdle pain in pregnant women.
