ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a patient’s understanding of health information, known as health literacy, affects their ability to stick with a treatment called CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). The study will follow patients over a six-month period to see if those with better health literacy are more likely to continue using their CPAP machines as recommended.
To participate, individuals need to be newly diagnosed with OSA and have a doctor’s recommendation to start CPAP therapy. They must also agree to take part in the study and be covered by a social security plan. The trial is currently recruiting participants aged 65 to 74 and welcomes individuals of all genders. Those who join can expect to share their experiences and may also take part in remote monitoring of their treatment. This study aims to improve understanding of how social factors influence treatment adherence, which can help enhance care for patients with sleep apnea.
