ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving rehabilitation for patients who have recently experienced a stroke. The goal is to see if providing more intensive walking practice during physical therapy sessions—especially at a higher level of physical effort—can help patients recover their ability to walk. To support this, physical therapists receive training to encourage these practices. The study will also track how well therapists are following these new guidelines and how it impacts patient recovery outcomes.
To participate in this trial, you should be less than two months post-stroke and able to walk more than 50 meters before your stroke. Unfortunately, if you have certain conditions like a leg amputation or a recent leg fracture, or if you were discharged from rehabilitation in less than a week, you wouldn’t be eligible. Participants can expect to be involved in a program that emphasizes walking and may help improve their mobility after a stroke. This project is currently recruiting participants of all genders between the ages of 65 and 74.
