ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating a new therapy called energy therapy, specifically Pranic Healing, to help children and teenagers aged 5 to 18 who experience chronic pain due to conditions like Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and Chronic Pancreatitis. Chronic pain can significantly affect a young person's quality of life and even hinder their growth. The trial aims to find out if this non-invasive, natural therapy can help reduce their pain and improve their overall well-being after participating in weekly 30-minute sessions for eight weeks.

To take part in the study, patients must be registered at King's College Hospital and be between the ages of 5 and 18, experiencing chronic pain linked to their medical condition. Those who are younger than 5 or older than 18, or who do not have any pain, will not be eligible. During the trial, participants will receive three energy therapy sessions over the course of eight weeks, and the effects of the therapy will be carefully measured. This study is an exciting opportunity to explore alternatives to traditional pain management for young patients.
