ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach called biofeedback training (BT) to help people with hemianopia, which is a type of vision loss where a person can't see on one side of their visual field. This condition often occurs after a brain injury from a stroke, surgery, or trauma. The trial aims to see how effective biofeedback training can be in helping patients learn to move their eyes in a way that brings the areas they can't see into their line of sight. This training could potentially improve their ability to use their vision more effectively.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be between 18 and 90 years old and have been diagnosed with hemianopia through tests like microperimetry. They should be able to follow simple visual and auditory instructions. However, individuals who have received prior treatment for low vision, have certain eye diseases, or other serious health issues unrelated to hemianopia won’t be included. Participants can expect to engage in training sessions that help them learn to adjust their eye movements, which might improve their daily activities and overall quality of life. The research team is currently recruiting participants, and the findings will help establish guidelines for using biofeedback training in vision rehabilitation for hemianopia.
