ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how a substance called Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) affects the functioning of skeletal muscles, particularly in relation to exercise and a method called ischemic preconditioning, which involves brief episodes of restricted blood flow followed by restoration. The researchers want to understand how different factors, like stress in the body and certain gene expressions related to muscle growth, might change when men participate in a two-week training program that includes this type of exercise.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be males aged between 76 and 105 years who are generally healthy and not taking any medications during the study. They should not have any serious health issues, such as heart problems or mental disorders, that could interfere with the results. Those who agree to participate will undergo training and various evaluations to help the researchers gather important information about muscle function and health. It’s important to note that the trial is not currently recruiting participants, so there may be a wait before enrollment begins.
