ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well the heart functions in patients who have cirrhosis, particularly when they experience a sudden worsening of their liver condition. This situation, known as acute decompensation, is important because it can signal that the disease is getting worse and can lead to further health complications. The researchers will closely monitor the heart's performance in patients who are hospitalized due to this acute liver issue.
To participate in the trial, patients must have a confirmed diagnosis of cirrhosis with a recent episode of acute decompensation. However, individuals with certain serious heart conditions or other severe illnesses, as well as those who cannot provide consent, are not eligible. Throughout the study, participants will undergo several assessments to evaluate their heart function, helping doctors better understand the relationship between liver problems and heart health. This research could lead to improved care for patients with cirrhosis in the future.
