ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called Direct Referral for Apnea Monitoring (DREAM), is studying two different ways to help Veterans who might have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a condition that affects breathing during sleep. The trial aims to compare a new approach, where patients can be directly referred for sleep monitoring at home, to the traditional method, which requires an in-person visit to a clinic first. This will help researchers understand which method is more effective for getting patients the care they need.
To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and agree to be seen by a VA sleep program. You should also be seeking a new evaluation for obstructive sleep apnea. If you are interested in joining, you can expect to either have your sleep monitored at home or go to a clinic for an initial appointment. The trial is currently recruiting participants, so it's a great opportunity to contribute to research that may improve how OSA is diagnosed and treated for Veterans.
