ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Upper Extremity Life Care Specialist (LCS), is designed to learn more about how a specialized position, known as a Life Care Specialist, can help patients who have suffered injuries to their upper arms, hands, or shoulders. The researchers aim to understand the value this role brings to patients who need surgery for their injuries.
If you are 18 years or older and have a single upper extremity injury that requires surgery, you may be eligible to participate. Participants will need to give their consent, have a working cellphone, and be able to communicate in English at a basic level. The trial is currently recruiting and will involve completing some surveys and follow-up appointments to track your recovery. It's important to note that individuals who are pregnant, incarcerated, or currently infected with COVID-19 cannot participate. This study could help improve care for future patients with similar injuries.
