ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how artificial intelligence (AI) can help improve the ability of Gastroenterology trainees to detect adenomas, which are growths that can lead to colorectal cancer if not found early. The researchers want to see if using AI technology during colonoscopy procedures can increase the adenoma detection rate (ADR), which is an important measure of how well doctors are identifying these growths. This study will involve Gastroenterology fellows at USC who are learning to perform endoscopies, and it will be carried out in a fair and organized way by dividing participants into groups.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must be Gastroenterology fellows at USC who are actively performing endoscopies. It’s important to note that if a fellow chooses not to give their consent to participate, they will not be included in the study. The AI system will only be used in the endoscopy unit and not in other medical settings like the intensive care unit or operating room. By participating, trainees can expect to use advanced technology that may help improve their skills in detecting adenomas, ultimately leading to better outcomes for patients.
