ClinConnect Summary
The "Mental Health in Primary Care" trial is studying a special online program called eHealth Familias Unidas, designed to help Hispanic youth aged 12 to 16 who are experiencing depression, anxiety, or thoughts of suicide. The goal is to see if this enhanced program can improve mental health by addressing these issues in young people, especially in the context of their family relationships. The study will take place in 18 pediatric clinics in South Florida, and families will be randomly selected to participate.
To be eligible for the trial, adolescents must identify as Hispanic and live with an adult caregiver who agrees to take part. Families should have access to the internet on a device like a smartphone or computer and need to show signs of poor family communication or elevated mental health symptoms. Participants can expect to engage in an online program that helps them improve communication and mental health, while also possibly receiving additional support. It's an opportunity to work on important mental health issues in a supportive environment.
