ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how health coaching can help patients who are waiting for a lung transplant. The study will involve up to 12 sessions of health coaching over 12 to 16 weeks, where participants will receive support and guidance through phone calls. This coaching will be compared to a usual care group that only receives standard pre-transplant education and support. The goal is to see if the coaching makes a positive difference in how patients feel and manage their health while they wait for a transplant.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be between the ages of 65 and 74 and currently waitlisted or deferred for a lung transplant at specific locations, such as the Mayo Clinic or the University of Washington. Unfortunately, those who are under 18 years old, do not speak English, or have severe hearing issues cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect regular phone sessions with a coach who will help you with health-related goals and provide support during your wait for a transplant.
