ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying blood tests that could help diagnose Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related conditions like mild cognitive impairment and dementia. Researchers want to find out if these blood tests can accurately identify AD by comparing them to the traditional method, which involves analyzing cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) taken from the spine. The goal is to see if blood tests can be a simpler, more accessible way to diagnose this disease, especially since AD is becoming a major health issue as people live longer.
To participate in the trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and visiting a memory clinic in Montpellier, Nîmes, or Perpignan. You must also have undergone a CSF test for diagnostic purposes and give your written consent to join the study. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or cannot undergo a lumbar puncture (the procedure to collect CSF), you won’t be eligible. Participants will have their blood tested alongside the standard CSF tests and can expect close monitoring throughout the study. This research could lead to easier ways to detect Alzheimer's disease and improve how it's managed.
