ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new tool called a flexible tip bougie, which is designed to help doctors place a breathing tube in patients who may have a difficult airway. The goal is to see if this new device can improve the chances of successfully inserting the tube on the first attempt when using a special camera technique called videolaryngoscopy. The flexible tip bougie can bend and move in ways that make it easier to guide the tube into the trachea, which is the windpipe. This could be especially helpful if the first attempt at intubation fails.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a situation where doctors expect intubation could be difficult. You also need to give your consent, or if unable, have a family member or guardian provide it. However, pregnant individuals, those under 18, or patients with respiratory failure cannot join the trial. If you participate, you can expect to be part of a process that aims to improve the way doctors handle difficult intubations, potentially leading to better outcomes for patients in emergency situations.
