ClinConnect Summary
The FRESH Delivers trial is studying a new way to help people in rural areas, particularly Black African American smokers, quit smoking. The main idea is to see if combining motivational counseling through video calls with home deliveries of healthy food can help smokers stop using tobacco more effectively than just counseling or food delivery alone. The goal is to understand how improving access to food might lead to better success in quitting smoking, which can help reduce cancer-related health issues.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 21 and 75 years old, live in Desha, Phillips, Chicot, or Lee Counties, and have been smoking regularly for at least a year. You should also be interested in quitting and able to communicate in English. If you join, you’ll receive support through video counseling and healthy food deliveries, and you’ll be asked to use a study-provided device to stay in touch. It’s important to be willing to report any COVID-19 symptoms to keep everyone safe during personal visits. This study is currently looking for participants, and it aims to make a positive impact on smoking cessation in your community.
