ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how different methods of providing oxygen to donated kidneys can help improve their function after transplantation. Specifically, it compares two ways of delivering oxygen—continuously versus intermittently—during a process called hypothermic machine perfusion (HMP). This process helps keep the kidneys healthy before they are transplanted into patients needing a new kidney. The goal is to see which method might work better to reduce complications and improve the success of kidney transplants from donors who have passed away.

To participate in this study, you need to be on the waiting list for a kidney transplant due to severe kidney disease and be willing to follow the study procedures. Unfortunately, if you are receiving multiple organs or having two kidneys transplanted at the same time, you would not qualify for this trial. If you join, you can expect to follow a set of scheduled visits and exams to monitor your health and the success of the transplant. This research could help improve kidney transplant outcomes and is an important step in finding better treatments for patients like you.
