ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of a medication called dexamethasone alongside a local anesthetic called bupivacaine to help manage pain after colorectal surgery. The goal is to see if adding dexamethasone can make the pain relief last longer for patients who are having laparoscopic colorectal surgery, which is a minimally invasive approach.
To participate in this trial, you need to be over 18 years old and have certain health conditions that allow for elective or urgent laparoscopic colorectal surgery. This means you should be generally healthy (classified as ASA class I-III) and not have any serious health issues that would prevent you from undergoing this type of surgery. If you join the study, you can expect to receive either the dexamethasone with the anesthetic or just the anesthetic alone. The trial aims to improve pain management for patients undergoing these surgeries, which can help with recovery and comfort after the procedure.
