ClinConnect Summary
The "Mindful Waiting Room" trial is studying the effects of different short mindfulness audio practices on patients waiting for treatment at the Huntsman Cancer Institute's Wellness Center. Mindfulness is a technique that helps people focus on the present moment to reduce feelings of anxiety, depression, pain, nausea, and fatigue. In this trial, patients will listen to one of four different styles of 5-minute mindfulness recordings while they wait or to a recording about integrative healthcare. The goal is to see which mindfulness practice might be most beneficial for patients suffering from anxiety, depression, or pain.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and seeking treatment at the Wellness Center. Also, you should be comfortable understanding English to follow the study's procedures. However, if you have cognitive issues that make it hard for you to participate or if your medical condition is unstable, you may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect a simple and relaxing experience while waiting for your appointment, and your feedback will help improve future patient care.
