ClinConnect Summary
The CIMR Neuromuscular Research Biobank is a study aimed at collecting, storing, and sharing tissue samples from individuals with various neuromuscular diseases. These diseases affect the nerves and muscles, and this research will help scientists understand them better and develop new treatments. If you or someone in your family has a confirmed or suspected neuromuscular disease, or if you have a family history of such conditions, you may be eligible to participate. Healthy volunteers between the ages of newborn to 75 can also join the study.
Participants in this trial will be asked to provide tissue samples, which will be kept at Virginia Commonwealth University for future research. It’s important to know that you must be willing to give your consent to participate. By donating these samples, you will be contributing to valuable research that could help many people with neuromuscular diseases in the future. If you are interested and meet the criteria, this could be a meaningful way to support the scientific community.
