ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Somatosensory Tinnitus RCT, is looking into a specific type of tinnitus, which is often described as a ringing in the ears. This study focuses on "somatosensory tinnitus," a type of tinnitus that changes when a person moves their head, neck, or jaw. Researchers want to understand this condition better and explore potential treatment options for those affected.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have had constant and bothersome tinnitus for at least six months. It's important that your tinnitus changes when you move your head, neck, or jaw. However, if you have certain conditions, like issues with your middle ear or recent injuries in your jaw area, you might not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to work closely with the research team to help them learn more about how to manage this type of tinnitus.
