ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to treat pilonidal disease, a condition that can cause painful cysts or abscesses near the tailbone. Researchers want to find out if surgery is necessary after a patient’s initial symptoms go away, especially if they follow a regular hair removal routine, like getting laser hair removal. The trial is currently recruiting participants who have pilonidal disease and are at least 8 years old, as long as they can read and understand English or Spanish.
If you or someone you know is eligible and decides to participate, you can expect to be closely monitored throughout the study to see how well both treatment options work. This research may help doctors understand whether surgery is really needed for certain patients or if managing hair removal can be enough to keep symptoms from coming back. Your involvement could contribute valuable information to improve care for others with this condition.
