ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Factors in Learning And Plasticity: Healthy Vision," is studying how the brain adapts and learns after someone experiences central vision loss, such as from conditions like macular degeneration. The goal is to understand these changes better so that new treatments can be developed to help people with low vision. This research is especially important because it could benefit millions who struggle with vision challenges.
To participate in this trial, you must be between 18 and 30 years old and have good corrected vision (20/40 or better) without any retinal issues. Unfortunately, some individuals may not qualify, including those with certain medical devices like pacemakers, issues with claustrophobia, or specific health conditions. If eligible, participants can expect to engage in training activities designed to explore how their vision and brain function can improve. Overall, this study aims to contribute to better understanding and potential treatments for those with visual impairments.
