ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how participating in adaptive sports can help individuals who have had a stroke. Adaptive sports are specially designed activities that allow people with physical disabilities to engage in sports and exercise. In this study, researchers will compare two groups of stroke survivors: one group that regularly participates in adaptive sports and another group that does not. By looking at various health and fitness measures, the study aims to understand the benefits of adaptive sports for stroke recovery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must have had a stroke at least six months ago and experience ongoing physical challenges as a result. They also need to understand French well enough to follow the study's instructions. However, individuals with serious memory issues or those who cannot safely engage in physical activity will not be included. Participants can expect to take part in a one-time assessment to evaluate their health and physical abilities. This research could provide valuable insights into how adaptive sports may improve the lives of stroke survivors.
